Does this affect what we recommend?
No — and here's how we try to keep it that way. We pick what to review based on what's actually useful for students and makers, not based on which programme pays the highest commission. If a cheaper or non-affiliate option is genuinely better for a particular use case, we'll say so. Ratings and pros/cons reflect our honest opinion of the product, not the size of the commission attached to it.
How you can tell a link is an affiliate link
Most "Buy Now" or "Check Price" buttons on product reviews and buying guides are affiliate links. If you'd rather not use them, you can always search for the product directly on the retailer's site — we'd just ask that you consider using our link if the review helped you decide, since that's what keeps the site running.
